Long before Waikīkī’s skyline became filled with towering resorts, visitors came to Hawaiʻi seeking something simpler: a relaxing place near the beach, great value, and the genuine spirit of aloha. It was during this golden era of Hawaii travel that the Waikīkī Heritage Hotel – then named the Hawaiiana Hotel – first welcomed guests in 1955.
Waikiki Heritage Hotel quickly became a cherished retreat for travelers looking to experience the beauty of Hawaiʻi. Surrounded by tropical gardens and designed with the relaxed charm of old Waikīkī, the hotel offered an intimate alternative with its low-rise design.
For decades, families, couples, and adventurers made our hotel part of their Hawaiʻi traditions. Many returned year after year, drawn back by familiar faces and relaxing surroundings.
